Rules on nudity
• It is very important you understand our rules about nudity in our photography.
• The Horrify Me studio provides a safe, professional environment to conduct these creative shoots.
• Horrify Me operates to an industry standard level called "Art Nude". This allows the use of nudity for artistic expression, using the body in creative ways to portray themes and ideas which do not focus only on sex. We do not shoot gratuitous sexual anatomy, close-ups of private parts, or sexual activity.
• You will NEVER be asked to do nude portraits unless you specify that you want to. It is completely optional and your own choice.
• We are very strict and careful about how we shoot nudity and we follow a very high ethical standard. This type of photography is done with great care to ensure it remains artistic and expressive and does not exceed the recognised standards of the "Art Nude" level of photography.
• Some people prefer "implied" or "concealed" nudity, so that vital body parts are not visible to the lens (for example, hands on breasts to conceal nipples or careful camera angles to create a "blind spot"). Full exposed nudity is allowed provided the image has a creative purpose, with a sense of artistic context, or follows accepted photography level for "Art Nude" standards.
• You may bring a friend or partner as a chaperone if it provides you with extra peace of mind. Chaperones are always made very welcome. They can be a friend, partner, or anyone else that you feel comfortable with.
• You will not be touched by the photographer during any of these shoots, for any reason. You will never be made to feel uncomfortable or unsafe. The purpose of our nude work is to create exceptional fine art horror photography, and this style of shoot also provides a great confidence boost to clients as well as empowerment through creative process.
• We've been asked several times in the past to shoot strong sexual images so let us make it clear: Under no circumstances will we shoot images that we consider to be gratuitously pornographic. This includes any sexual activity, genital touching, open-leg views, or any other generally "adult" sexual themes. It is NOT what we are here to do and we won't embark on any type of photography like this so please do not ask us to!
• And yes - we are happy to shoot male nudes, we just very rarely get any demand for it which is why you see so few of them. All male nudes are expected to conduct themselves professionally, and respectfully. We have zero tolerance for rudeness, erections, or any form of inappropriate behavious.
